Challenges
The biggest technical challenge was creating a real-time book preview system that accurately represents the final printed product. This required complex CSS-to-print layout calculations and extensive testing with the printing service API. Additionally, handling large image uploads and optimizing them for both web preview and print quality required careful performance optimization.
What I Learned
This project taught me the intricacies of print design in web applications and the importance of bridging digital and physical products. I gained deep experience with Remix's data loading patterns, Supabase's real-time features, and learned how to integrate complex third-party printing services. The user research phase also showed me how emotional design decisions can significantly impact user engagement in sentimental products.
