Users can discover activities ranging from museum visits and nature walks to creative workshops and mindful experiences, all tailored to nurture their inner artist and promote personal growth.

Challenges

The primary challenge was designing an experience that felt inspiring rather than prescriptive. Initial user research revealed that many people felt self-conscious about solo activities, so the interface needed to encourage exploration while normalizing independent experiences. Creating meaningful personalization from a comprehensive activity database required extensive UX research and iterative testing to understand how users naturally discover and select solo experiences. I also faced a technical tension between accessibility and engagement. To minimize friction, I wanted users to access the platform without account creation. However, I also needed a way to surface popular content. My solution was to leverage local browser storage for personal favorites while implementing vote limits per idea to maintain data integrity without requiring user authentication.

What I Learned

This project deepened my understanding of designing for emotional wellness and personal growth. I learned to create interfaces that feel supportive and safe rather than judgmental, and how subtle design choices can significantly impact user confidence. Working with The Artist's Way concepts taught me about the intersection of creativity and self-care, and how technology can support meaningful offline experiences rather than replace them.
